Product Details

When a sign needs to go up once and stay readable for years, print it on metal. These signs are produced on rust-proof .080-inch solid aluminum — real sheet metal, roughly five times the aluminum of the 3mm composite panels most sites sell under the same name, and the same gauge used for municipal parking and traffic signs. It will not rust, rot, warp, or flex in the wind, which is exactly what you want from a sign facing a Houston summer. Use them for reserved and visitor parking, traffic and regulatory notices, factory and warehouse signage, directional and wayfinding, property and no-trespassing signs, and safety notices. Eleven sizes run from a 6" × 6" equipment tag up to a 24" × 36" property sign, with 12" × 18" — the US standard parking-sign size — in the middle. Rounded 1-inch corners are free on every size and worth taking on anything mounted at hand height. We drill mounting holes before shipping so the sign arrives ready to hang: all four corners, top corners only, or center top and bottom for U-channel and square-tube posts. For an interior architectural look, add the silver standoff kit and the sign floats off the wall. Production is 4 business days after artwork approval, plus shipping. File prep: 300 DPI · CMYK color · 1" total bleed (0.5" on each side) · Accepted files: PDF (recommended), JPG, EPS, TIFF.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are aluminum signs used for?

Aluminum signs are the workhorse of permanent signage. 53Printers prints them for parking and reserved-space signs, traffic and regulatory signs, factory and warehouse notices, directional and wayfinding signage, property and no-trespassing signs, and safety notices. Because the aluminum is rust-proof and the print is full color, they hold up outdoors year after year in the Cypress and Houston climate.

Can aluminum signs be used outdoors in Houston weather?

Yes — this is a long-term outdoor material. The sign is printed on rust-proof .080-inch aluminum, which will not rust, rot, or warp in sun, heat, or rain, so it holds up through Gulf Coast summers and storms. It works equally well indoors for warehouse and facility signage. For a premium indoor lobby look instead, see our clear acrylic signs.

How thick is the aluminum, and is it real aluminum?

It is .080-inch solid aluminum sheet — real metal, not a composite panel. That matters: many online sellers advertise "aluminum signs" that are actually 3mm ACM, a plastic core sandwiched between two .008-inch aluminum skins. At .080 inch this is roughly five times the metal and is the gauge used for municipal traffic and parking signs. It is rigid, it will not flex in wind, and it is rust-proof.

What size should a parking sign be?

12" × 18" is the standard parking-sign size in the United States and is the most common choice for reserved, visitor, and accessible-space signs. Use 18" × 24" or 24" × 36" for property, warehouse, and site signs that need to be read from a distance, and the smaller 6" × 6" through 10" × 12" sizes for equipment tags, door signs, and supplemental plaques mounted under a main sign.

How do I mount an aluminum sign?

53Printers drills the holes before shipping so the sign arrives ready to hang. Choose 3/8-inch holes at all four corners for fence, wall, or post mounting; top corners only for a sign that hangs free at the bottom; or center top and bottom, which is the standard pattern for U-channel and square-tube sign posts. For an interior architectural look, choose the silver standoff kit, which adds polished 5/8" × 1" standoffs plus the drilled holes so the sign floats off the wall.

Do rounded corners cost extra?

No. Rounded 1-inch corners are free on every size. They are worth choosing for signs mounted at hand height or anywhere people walk past, because a rounded corner is safer to handle and far less likely to catch, bend, or start a dent at the edge. Square corners are the default if you prefer the standard look.

How fast can I get my aluminum signs?

Production is 4 business days after your artwork is approved, plus shipping time. This material is produced on a single 4-business-day schedule, so there is no rush production option — if you have a hard deadline, order early or contact 53Printers in Cypress, TX and we will tell you honestly whether it can be met.

What shipping options are available for aluminum signs?

Aluminum signs ship Ground only at checkout. Solid .080-inch aluminum is heavy, and air freight on the larger sizes costs several times what it does on paper products, so rather than quote an expedited rate we cannot stand behind we price it per order. If you need a sign faster than Ground, email info@53printers.com or call (657) 554-8494 and we will quote expedited freight for your exact size, quantity and delivery ZIP. Houston-area customers can also pick up in Cypress, TX.

How should I set up artwork for an aluminum sign?

Submit print-ready files at 300 DPI in CMYK color with a 1-inch total bleed (0.5 inch on each side). Accepted file types are PDF (recommended), JPG, EPS, and TIFF. Keep important text and logos at least an inch inside the trim edge, and further in if you are adding corner holes so nothing is drilled through. Not sure your file is ready? Upload what you have and 53Printers will review it before printing, or add our design service and we will build it for you.
