Product Details
Turn a photograph, a piece of art, or your own branding into a finished canvas that is ready to hang the moment it arrives. Each piece is printed on high-quality 17mil artist canvas and mounted on lightweight, durable stretcher bars — no frame, no glass, no extra hardware. The woven canvas surface adds texture and depth that flat paper prints cannot match, which is why canvas remains the go-to for photography, fine art reproduction, and statement pieces in homes, offices, galleries, and reception areas. Choose from eleven sizes, from a 12" × 12" accent piece up to a 36" × 36" oversized statement, with square, portrait, and panoramic shapes in between. Popular uses include photographs and portraits, original artwork and fine-art reproduction, and company logos and branded wall pieces — we print these regularly for medical and pharmaceutical offices, food and beverage brands, entertainment venues, and hospitality and travel businesses, as well as for homes across Cypress and Houston. Standard production is 4 business days after artwork approval, with Next Business Day available when you need it sooner. Mounted canvas is an indoor product — keep it out of weather and prolonged direct sun. Hanging: sawtooth picture hangers are the best option for mounted canvas and are what we recommend — the pieces are light enough that no heavy-duty hardware is needed. Hanging hardware is not included. File prep: build your file at the finished size plus 4" in each direction — 2" of bleed on every side — because that outer border wraps around the stretcher bars and will not be visible from the front · keep faces, logos, and text well inside it · 300 DPI at finished size is the spec, 150 DPI is the practical minimum for canvas · CMYK color mode preferred · accepted files: PDF (best results), JPG, TIFF, EPS, and PNG. Not sure your image is big enough? Upload it and we will check it before we print.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a mounted canvas print?
A mounted canvas print is your photo or artwork printed on 17mil artist canvas and then stretched over lightweight wooden stretcher bars, so it arrives finished and ready to hang with no frame required. The canvas has a subtle woven texture that gives images depth and a gallery feel, and the mounted construction keeps it light enough to hang on a single hook. 53Printers prints these for homes, offices, and galleries across Cypress and the greater Houston area.
What size canvas should I order?
53Printers offers eleven sizes, from a 12" × 12" accent piece up to a 36" × 36" oversized statement. As a rule of thumb: 12" × 12" to 16" × 20" suits a desk, shelf, or gallery-wall grouping; 18" × 24" to 24" × 24" works as a single piece above a console or bed; and 24" × 36" or 36" × 36" is right for a large feature wall or reception area. If you need a size that is not listed, email us and we will quote it.
What resolution does my image need to be?
The print specification is 300 DPI at the finished size. In practice 150 DPI or higher is the working minimum for canvas — the woven texture and normal viewing distance hide softness that would show on a flat paper print. For a 24" × 36" canvas that is roughly 3600 × 5400 pixels at the practical minimum. Photos straight from a modern phone are usually fine up to about 16" × 20", but older images, social-media downloads, and screenshots often are not large enough for the bigger sizes. Upload what you have and 53Printers will review it before printing; if it will not hold up at your chosen size we will tell you before we run it, not after.
How should I set up my artwork so nothing important gets cut off?
Your image wraps around the sides of the stretcher bars, so build your file at the finished size plus 4 inches in each direction — that is 2 inches of bleed on every side. A 16" × 20" canvas means a 20" × 24" file. Everything in that outer 2-inch border folds around the edge and will not be visible from the front, so keep faces, logos, and text well inside it. Backgrounds, skies, and open texture are ideal for the wrap. Set the color mode to CMYK if you can. Accepted files: PDF (best results), JPG, TIFF, and EPS — PNG is fine too and we will convert it for you. If you are unsure, send your file over and 53Printers will show you exactly how it will sit on the canvas before anything is printed.
How do I hang a mounted canvas?
Sawtooth picture hangers are the best option for mounted canvas — they sit flush against the stretcher bar and keep the piece level and close to the wall. For the larger sizes, two hangers spaced across the top bar give a more stable hang than one in the center. Because the canvas is stretched over lightweight bars rather than framed behind glass, these pieces are light enough for ordinary wall anchors; you do not need heavy-duty mounting hardware. Hanging hardware is not included — any hardware store carries sawtooth hangers.
Can I put a mounted canvas in a frame?
Mounted canvas is designed to hang as-is — stretched over the bars with finished edges, no frame or glass needed, which is most of the appeal. 53Printers does not offer framing as an add-on for this product. If you want a framed look, a custom framing shop can build a floater frame around a finished canvas, which is the standard way it is done. Order the canvas at the size you want and take it to a framer from there.
Can I hang a canvas print outdoors?
No — mounted canvas is an indoor product. The canvas and wooden stretcher bars are not weather-rated, and Houston humidity, heat, and direct sun will warp the bars and degrade the print. Keep canvas prints indoors and out of prolonged direct sunlight. If you need artwork or signage for an outdoor or covered-exterior space, ask 53Printers about our weather-rated sign materials instead.
How fast can I get my canvas print?
Standard production is 4 business days after your artwork is approved, plus transit time for delivery. Need it sooner? Choose the Next Business Day option on this page and 53Printers will expedite production for a 15% uplift. Note that production time and shipping time are separate — the turnaround you pick covers how fast we make it, and your chosen shipping method covers how fast it reaches you.
Do you offer a discount on multiple canvases?
Canvas is priced per piece at a flat rate, so ten canvases cost ten times one canvas — there is no volume break on this product. Shipping does scale with quantity, since each canvas ships as its own boxed piece. For orders above 10 canvases, or for a mixed-size gallery wall, email 53Printers in Cypress, TX for a custom quote and we will work the numbers for you.
